Collegly values the privacy of its users and account-holders (collectively or individually, “You” or “Users”) who visit and use the pages, content, and services provided by Collegly, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively “Collegly”) on Collegly.com and its affiliated websites (collectively, the “Collegly Platform”).

 

By using the Collegly Platform, You expressly consent to the information handling practices described in this notice of Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Notice”).  Collegly has created this privacy policy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy.  

 

This Privacy Notice is incorporated into and is subject to the Collegly Terms of Use.   Your use of the Collegly Platform and any personal information You provide through the Collegly Platform are subject at all time to this Privacy Notice and the Terms of Use.  Terms for “Collegly” and the “Collegly Platform” apply to any site or mobile application owned and operated by Collegly, Inc. and subsidiaries.

1. The Information Collegly Collects  

 

a)    User-provided Information: At any time You may provide to Collegly what is generally called “personally identifiable” information (such as Your name, email address, postal mailing address, home/mobile telephone number, birthdate, age, location, gender, occupation and industry, shipping and billing information, credit card numbers and other payment information, bank accounts and other financial information, purchase history, behavior patterns, personal preferences and other data specifically or generally about You) while using the Collegly Platform in any capacity, or while using the features and functionality of the Collegly Platform, and when creating a User Profile and registering as a Registered User.

b)    “Automatically Collected” Information: When You access the Collegly Platform or open one of our correspondences (i.e., HTML emails), we may automatically record certain information such as Internet Protocol address (“IP Address”), a unique device or user ID, version of software installed, system type, the referring search query used to locate content and pages on the Collegly Platform, the content and pages that You access on the Collegly Platform, the dates and times that You visit the Collegly Platform, and other helpful data by using various types of information gathering technology.  You will be asked first to give permission to the collection of such personal data in some cases when required, for example to link to external password protected sites such as Facebook.  In other cases, such as regarding publically available personal data, permission may not be required.  For example, data available on search engines or provided by Facebook APIs may be considered publically available.

c)    “Cookies” Information: When You access the Collegly Platform, we or one of our advertising partners may send one or more cookies – small text files that contain a string of alphanumeric characters – to Your computer if You have elected to set Your system or browser settings to permit cookies.  We use cookies to allow us to automate access and the data entry functions of our website, tailor our website to your preferences or interests, or customize promotions or marketing. In addition, cookies allow us to track use of our website to determine those areas which are useful or popular and those that are not thereby enabling us to improve and update our website effectively. In general, this aggregate information will not identify you personally unless correlated with other personally identifying information.

2. The Way Collegly Uses Information

 

The services of Collegly.com and its associates are made available a Collective Research. Registration is non-obligatory on Collegly.com but only a registered user can have access to different services of Collegly.com depending on the type of registration. Registration depends on the user’s interaction with Collegly.com and the information submitted by him which might include:

(a) name, email address, age (necessary by law), user name, password, postal code, sex and other information of the user

(b) orientation or preference of the user

(c) interaction of the user with characteristics and promotions of Collegly.com

(d) information concerning financial transaction like, credit card or any other mode of making payments, information about shipping or billing, or a history of products purchased from Collegly.com;

(e) information needed for contacting Collegly.com for any help, and

(f) any other information needed specially for particular services on Collegly.com

Other information like city, state, zip code, country, IP address, etc. which don’t recognize individuality of a person are also collected when a user interacts with Collegly.com to improve services.

 

3. When Collegly Discloses Information

 

a)    Collegly does not share your personally identifiable information with other organizations for their marketing or promotional uses without your prior consent, except that if you have provided us with an email address hashed versions may be provided to advertisers and other third parties.

b)    Collegly may disclose aggregated or other types of non-personally identifiable information to third parties for various purposes, including marketing or promotional uses.  For example, Collegly may disclose non-personally identifiable information to interested third parties to assist them in understanding the usage, viewing, and demographic patterns on the Collegly Platform.

c)    Please be aware that any personally identifiable information that you voluntarily choose to display on the Collegly Platform – such as when you publish attribution credits for documents or profile information – becomes publicly available and may be collected and used by others without restriction. Please note that any information which you choose to upload, post or communicate via the Services to public areas of the Site may be viewed by all users and visitors of the Site. Please be aware that such Content shall be considered public information for which you should have no expectation of privacy.

d)    We may disclose User information to affiliated companies or other businesses or persons to: provide web site hosting, maintenance, and security services; fulfill orders; conduct data analysis and create reports; offer certain functionality; and assist Collegly in improving the Collegly Platform and creating new services features.  We require that these parties process such information in compliance with this Privacy Notice, we authorize only a limited use of such information, and we require these parties to use reasonable confidentiality measures.

e)    Collegly may disclose User information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws (such as U.S. Copyright law) or respond to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena, or warrant in the manner required by the requesting entity.

f)     Collegly also reserves the right to disclose User information that we believe, in good faith, is appropriate or necessary: to take precautions against liability; to protect Collegly from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses; to investigate and defend ourselves against third-party claims or allegations; to assist government enforcement agencies; to protect the security or integrity of the Collegly Platform; or to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Collegly, our Users, or others.

g)    Collegly may show aggregate geographical information, user activity metrics, and visitor activity information on Collegly document pages in our analytics section.  This information includes the cities and countries of people viewing documents, the document which was viewed, and the time the document was viewed. This information is publicly available to all Collegly users.

 

4. Consent to Contact

 

You consent to Collegly contacting you by electronic means as part of delivering the services outlined in the Terms of Service and its incorporated agreements, policies, and notices.  Additionally you consent to being contacted by electronic means by Collegly for the marketing of campaigns, offers, new products or services. 

 

5. Your Options and Duty of Care

 

You may, of course, decline to share your personally-identifiable information with Collegly, in which case Collegly will not be able to provide to you some of the features and functionality found on the Collegly Platform.  Carefully review our terms of use for every feature of the Collegly Platform.  You may choose not to use the Collegly Platform.

 

To protect your privacy and security, Collegly takes reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting You account access or making corrections to your information.  YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING THE SECRECY OF YOUR UNIQUE PASSWORD AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION AT ALL TIMES.

 

6.  Third-Party Advertisers and Cookies

 

Collegly adheres to the Digital Advertising Alliance’s Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising, available at www.aboutads.info.  Our advertising may use technology to provide the advertisements that appear on the Collegly Platform and to use data collected through the Collegly Platform, as described above and in this section, to better target ads shown on Collegly and other websites. Our advertising partners may also use cookies or pixel tags to enable the serving of customized advertisements and content to you both on Collegly and on other websites and services based on your visits to, and use of Collegly, as well as based on your visits to third-party sites and services on the Internet.  These cookies or pixel tags may contain non-personally identifiable demographic or other data. 

 

7.  Mobile Access and Use

 

These Privacy terms apply to products and services on the Collegly platform including mobile applications.  However, Collegly is not responsible for insecure communications on devices not under Collegly’s physical control.  Special privacy concerns apply for Users on mobile, wireless, and other public networks.   It is your responsibility to protect the integrity of your network connections and personal identity on your hardware and software.   Special terms may be incorporated into the Privacy policies and Terms of Use for any future or parallel services offered for distinct networks and systems, so be sure to read all legal notices when downloading or using such services.

 

Some mobile devices or mobile service providers collect positional and identifying information via telemetric means such as GPS physical location identification information which may be transferred to Collegly.  Consult your mobile carrier or service provider for questions about the information they collect and what options they offer for modifying such terms.

Collegly USES COMMERCIALLY REASONABLE PHYSICAL, MANAGERIAL, AND TECHNICAL SAFEGUARDS TO PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY AND SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. WE CANNOT, HOWEVER, ENSURE OR WARRANT THE SECURITY OF ANY INFORMATION YOU TRANSMIT TO Collegly, AND YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF YOU ARE UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE, THEN PLEASE DO NOT USE OR ACCESS THE Collegly PLATFORM AT ANY TIME OR IN ANY MANNER.  THIS SITE IS NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS OLD.

 

PROTECTING THE PRIVACY OF YOUNG CHILDREN IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT.  FOR THAT REASON, Collegly DOES NOT KNOWINGLY COLLECT OR MAINTAIN PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION FROM PERSONS UNDER 13 YEARS-OF-AGE. IN THE EVENT THAT Collegly IS ACQUIRED BY OR MERGED WITH A THIRD-PARTY ENTITY, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT, IN ANY OF THESE CIRCUMSTANCES, TO TRANSFER OR ASSIGN THE INFORMATION, ACCOUNTS, AND USER-POSTED MATERIALS THAT WE HAVE COLLECTED FROM USERS AS PART OF THAT MERGER, ACQUISITION, SALE, OR OTHER CHANGE OF CONTROL.
